Bhubaneswar, Feb 20: In a first for India, Bhubaneswar Airport has introduced “Flybrary,” a unique library initiative by Bakul Foundation in collaboration with the Airports Authority of India. Travelers can now borrow books for free, read them during their journey, and return them on their next visit.
Unlike other airport libraries in India, Flybrary allows passengers to take books home. The library offers a variety of books in English, Hindi, and Odia. Passengers are also encouraged to donate books to support the initiative.
The concept, proposed by Bakul Foundation founder Sujit Mahapatra, gained support from Principal Secretary Usha Padhee. The airport officials, seeing positive response, plan to keep the initiative going, hoping it will be sustained through public contributions.
