
Bhubaneswar/Paradip, 15th November: On the occasion of Kartik Purnima, Odisha Chief Minister Shri Mohan Chandra Majhi inaugurated the Kalinga Bali Yatra 2024 at Paradip Port on Friday. Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister emphasized the historical significance of Odisha’s maritime heritage, particularly the ancient Kalinga maritime trade tradition. He remarked that the courageous seafaring expeditions by ancient traders continue to inspire the state’s growth and development.

In his address, the Chief Minister also announced a significant investment of ₹2,000 crore for the development of Paradip, calling it a key hub for the state’s progress. He also mentioned plans for connecting Talcher to Paradip with an investment of ₹16,000 crore, further enhancing infrastructure and trade capabilities in the region. The Chief Minister expressed pride in Odisha’s maritime legacy and affirmed that the ongoing development efforts would ensure that the state continues to thrive as a global trade center.
The inauguration of the Kalinga Bali Yatra marks a major step in showcasing Odisha’s rich cultural and trade heritage, while also paving the way for future growth and investment in the state.
