Odisha’s HLCA Approves INR 1.36 Lakh Crore Investment, Boosting Industrial Growth and Jobs

29th November 2024: In a major step towards bolstering industrial growth in Odisha, the High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA), chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, has approved 20 investment proposals worth ₹1,36,622.24 crore. These projects, spanning key sectors like Green Energy, Steel, Chemicals, and Textiles, will be spread across 10 districts, including Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Khordha, Sambalpur, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, and Jagatsinghpur.

This approval marks a significant turning point for the state, setting the stage for long-term industrial growth and job creation. With over 74,350 new employment opportunities expected to be generated, the projects will have a direct positive impact on the local economy, offering people in these districts access to new jobs and career prospects.

By focusing on green energy alongside traditional industries like steel and textiles, Odisha is not just aiming for economic growth, but also working to become a key player in sustainable industrial development. This move strengthens the state’s position as a growing industrial hub, attracting more investments and ensuring that Odisha’s economy remains dynamic and future-focused.
