Joshi handed over the electric vehicles to the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), noting that the project is a significant step toward combining religious traditions with environmentally conscious solutions. “This initiative is under the divine blessings of Lord Jagannath,” Joshi stated, emphasizing the cultural and spiritual importance of the project.
In addition to the vehicle launch, Joshi inaugurated a two-day ‘Chintan Shivir’ in Bhubaneswar, focusing on India’s renewable energy progress. The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of the battery-powered vehicles, ensuring they remain operational for years to come.
This initiative is expected to make temple visits more convenient and sustainable, offering a green alternative to traditional transport while supporting India’s broader renewable energy goals.
