15 District Students to Join State Institute of Hotel Management under Administration’s Initiative

Malkangiri, Jan, 22:   This year, fifteen students from Malkangiri district will pursue their studies at the State Institute of Hotel Management located in Balangir. Owing to the initiative of District Collector Somesh Kumar Upadhyay, the fifteen selected students departed for Balangir today.

All the students will enroll in a Diploma course in Hotel Management. The District Collector stated on this occasion that the district administration is giving priority to skill development of tribal youth, with the objective of empowering them economically and making them self-reliant.

He further expressed confidence that the young men and women who have gone to pursue diploma studies in hotel management will inspire many more youths in the coming days.

The entire cost of the course for these students will be borne through the Mission Vatsalya programme under the District Child Protection Unit, along with support from the Red Cross Fund, as informed by the District Collector.

After completing training at this state government institute, the students will have opportunities for 100 percent placement in reputed institutions.

As per the directions of the District Collector, District Child Protection Officer Narayan Das and District Skill Development and Employment Officer Gupta Madhi identified eligible youths from the district and conducted counseling sessions for them before facilitating their admission at the Hotel Management Institute in Balangir.
