Big Education Reform Announced by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi: Shishu Vatika to Become Foundation for Integrated Primary School System with ₹6 Crore Model School Plan

Bhubaneswar, April 11:  Primary education from Shishu Vatika (pre-school) to elementary level will now be brought under one roof. All Anganwadi centers will be integrated into Shishu Vatika. A new school will be constructed at a cost of Rs6 crore.
This announcement was made by Chief Minister Mohan Majhi during the Khadi Chhuan (initiation to learning) festival. To strengthen primary education, a model school will be established in every village. The Godabarish Mishra Primary School will be built over an area of 5 acres.
The Chief Minister participated in the state-level program held at the Raj Bhavan School campus in Bhubaneswar, where he personally interacted with children and guided them in their studies. He initiated the traditional learning ritual by helping children write “Brahma, Vishnu, Maheshwar.”
He emphasized achieving 100% enrollment in schools, and to support this, 5 lakh invitation cards were distributed to record and encourage admissions.
Meanwhile, the School and Mass Education Minister shared an important update regarding textbook distribution. Following the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), new textbooks are being prepared. So far, 50% of students across districts have received their books, and the remaining 50% will be distributed soon during the summer holidays, the minister informed.
