CRPF Marks 87th Raising Day with Voluntary Blood Donation Drive

Bhubaneswar, March, 12:  Aa voluntary blood donation camp was organized on the occasion of the 87th Raising Day of the CRPF at the 202 Battalion campus in Sunabeda. The camp was conducted under the supervision of CRPF authorities.

The chief guest, Senior Commandant Amit Kumar Prachalan, inaugurated the camp. The Second Commandant, Ravindra Singh, was the first to donate blood to mark the beginning of the program. Deputy Commandant M. Binay Kumar also donated blood. The chief guest, Shri Kumar Bhaktadan, highlighted the benefits of blood donation and emphasized the urgent need for blood at Koraput Medical College.

Other notable attendees included Commandant Rakshak Kumar Singh, Deputy Commandant Dr. Sheikh Lamrakshan, Dr. Bhisar, and Pradeep P. Tripathy, District Executive Chairman of the FBID, who encouraged and motivated the donors. Officers from the Shaheed Laxman Blood Center, including Dr. M.S. Balia Singh, and volunteers from the Odisha Blood Donors Association—Pradeep P. Tripathy, Devabrata Das, Geeta Parida, Rabindra Mishra, and Ajit Goud—assisted in collecting blood.

Many young volunteers donated blood for the first time with great enthusiasm. The camp was organized and managed by Dr. M. Binay Kumar and Pradeep Tripathy. From this camp, a total of 58 blood units were collected from four couples. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, six women also donated blood at this camp.

CRPF volunteers’ selfless service in collecting blood for patients in urgent need was highly appreciated by Dr. Naresh Chandra Sahu, President of the Odisha Blood Donors Association. The organizers from Odisha Blood Donors Association presented a certificate of appreciation to Deputy Commandant Dr. Sek Imukshon.
