Government Announces Incentive Scheme for Solar Roof-Tops in Panchayats

Bhubaneswar, Dec, 06:   Tata Power and the State Government have launched a joint initiative through the TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL). A sensitization program was organized on Tuesday for business partners. The event highlighted the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana under the Utility-Led Aggregation (ULA) model.

The Chief Executive Officer of TPCODL, Arvind Singh, elaborated on the registration process, installation systems, and the subsidies provided by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) of the central government as well as the Odisha Government.

According to the scheme’s guidelines, every Gram Panchayat in its respective region will be eligible for an incentive of ₹1,000 for each rooftop solar system installed.

During the session, the ULA model was explained as a simple and accessible process for adopting rooftop solar systems, making it easier for consumers to access clean, affordable, and reliable energy. Business partners were also informed about both the economic and environmental benefits of the program, encouraging their participation in promoting rooftop solar systems for domestic consumers.
