Hydrogen Train to Begin Operations in India

Bhubaneswar,  23rd Aug 2025:  India’s first hydrogen train will be launched very soon. The train will operate for the first time in Haryana, on the Jind–Sonipat route. To supply fuel, a hydrogen plant is being set up in Jind. With this, India will become the fifth country in the world to run a hydrogen-powered train. Such trains are already running in Germany, France, Sweden, and China. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared a video of the train on his X handle. The Railway Ministry also made an official post on X, writing: “India’s Hydrogen Journey!”
