New Delhi, Nov 29: An isolated case of Japanese Encephalitis (JE) has been reported in Delhi, with a 72-year-old man from West Delhi testing positive after being admitted to AIIMS for chest pain. He was discharged on November 15 after receiving treatment.
Health officials confirmed that there is no cause for concern, as all necessary precautions and health measures have been taken according to national guidelines. While JE is rare in Delhi, it is more common in neighboring states. The disease is spread by infected mosquitoes, and vaccines are part of the country’s immunization program. Officials assured that the case is isolated and there is no outbreak in the city.
