Nabarangpur, Dec, 02:A Disha Committee meeting was held today at the District Council Conference Hall, Nabarangpur. The meeting, chaired by MP Majhi, reviewed the progress of all central government schemes being implemented in the district.
There was a detailed discussion on the Bharatmala Project, Jaipur–Nabarangpur and Junagadh–Nabarangpur railway connectivity. Suggestions were also made to simplify loan disbursement under the Mudra scheme. Concerns were raised regarding the lack of proper internet connectivity in every panchayat under BharatNet, which is hampering digital services.
In the MGNREGA program, it was noted that out of 2,39,038 active job card holders, only 2,871 received 100 days of work, and instructions were given to increase this number. The meeting also announced that 1,802 households will be electrified using solar energy.
Further discussions covered the effectiveness of health, education, transportation, and forest department activities. Frustration was expressed over the absence of officials from the Water Resources Department regarding household irrigation and lift irrigation projects.
