Koraput MP Urges Union Minister for Strong 4G Connectivity in Remote Regions

New Delhi:Feb, 18:   The Member of Parliament from Koraput, Saptagiri Ulaka, met Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and demanded reliable 4G mobile network services across all remote areas of Koraput and Rayagada districts.

During the meeting on Tuesday in New Delhi, the MP pointed out that many regions in both districts are still deprived of mobile network connectivity. As a result, people in tribal-dominated areas are being denied access to emergency healthcare, education, livelihood support, banking, and other welfare services.

He proposed that to ensure proper telecom infrastructure, there should be a review every three months covering surveys, approvals, tower construction, and electricity supply so that telecom services can be delivered without delay.

He further suggested that for each village, the actual ground status should be tracked — including approvals, survey progress, infrastructure development, causes of delay, and expected project completion dates. He also urged reviews of forest clearances, wildlife permissions, land allocation, and issues faced by contractor agencies.

The MP requested that reasons for repeated delays be identified and necessary action taken. He also called for an independent verification system to track which villages have received connectivity and for district-level mechanisms to resolve complaints related to call drops and weak network service.

He urged the Ministry of Communications to conduct regular monitoring until 100% network coverage is achieved in Koraput and Rayagada districts.
