Modi Government Hikes MSP for 14 Kharif Crops to Support Farmers

29th May 2025: In a significant move to empower farmers, the Union Cabinet under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved an increase in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for 14 Kharif crops for the 2025–26 season.

This decision reflects the government’s continued commitment to ensuring better returns for farmers. Notably, the MSP for paddy has been increased by ₹69 per quintal compared to last year, providing a major boost to rice cultivators across the country.

The revised MSPs are expected to enhance farmers’ incomes and contribute to making them more self-reliant and economically secure.

This step is part of the broader strategy to strengthen India’s agricultural sector and improve the livelihood of millions of farmers.
