Papadahandi, Dec, 15: The three-day block-level MP Sports Festival of Papadahandi block was inaugurated today at the Jatabal Panchayat High School campus. The festival began with religious rituals and prayers at the Shri Shri Shri Shiva Temple in Jatabal village, followed by the lighting of a ceremonial torch. A grand and colorful procession carried the torch and culminated at the playground of Jatabal High School, where it was formally installed. The inauguration ceremony included the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries.
The sports festival was formally inaugurated by Nabarangpur MP Shri Pukt Balabhadra Majhi. The District Council President, Motiram Nayak, hoisted the sports flag. Other dignitaries present included Papadahandi Block Chairperson Smt. Hemalata Majhi, Vice-Chairperson, Minister’s representative Shri Lingaraj Bhatra, MP’s representatives Shri Sushant Kumar Behera and Shri Somanath Pujari, Parliamentary Constituency Sports Coordinator Shri Rameshwar Jena, Group Development Officer Kapiladev Sahu, Samiti Member Baidi Bhatra, Jatabal Sarpanch Malati Bhatra, and several other local leaders and representatives.
Also present were BJP Papadahandi Mandal President Manoj Agrawal, Dangara Mandal President Krishna Rao, Maidalpur Mandal President Purnachandra Bisoi, along with Hari Panigrahi, Prashant Panigrahi, Jalendra Singh, GPO Akshay Pattanayak, JE Prashant Kumar Sahu, all PEOs of the block, and sports teachers from across the block.
The dignitaries encouraged students from various high schools of the block to participate actively and showcase their sporting talents. The sports festival will be held over three days, from December 13 to December 15. Medical teams and police personnel were present to ensure safety and smooth conduct of the event. Arrangements for food and drinking water were made for all participants and attendees.
