Sunabeda, Nov 26: The road connecting Deomali — Odisha’s highest peak and a major tourist destination — will remain closed for a month for repair work. According to senior officials of the Works Department, the Kunduli–Deomali main road will be closed for one month starting from the 23rd.
With the tourist season approaching, thousands of tourists from within and outside the state have been visiting Deomali in recent years. However, tourists often express dissatisfaction and lodge complaints regarding the poor condition of the road.
Considering this, the district administration has decided to renovate the road. Meanwhile, the department has advised tourists visiting Deomali to take the Semiliguda–Dudhari route via Uparakanti to reach Deomali during the closure period.
