Chitrakonda, 1st Sept 2025: A Joint Public Hearing was held today at the Panaspur Gram Panchayat Office in Chitrakonda Block, Malkangiri District, where public grievances were heard and addressed. The hearing was conducted in the presence of District Collector Somesh Upadhyay and Assistant Collector Binod Patil.
A total of 112 complaints were registered during the session, which included both individual grievances and collective complaints. Of these, 76 complaints were personal, while 36 complaints were related to common issues. These included grievances related to:
Land disputes (4 complaints)
Employment issues (3 complaints)
Forest land issues (36 complaints)
Infrastructure concerns such as roads, bridges, and school facilities (6 complaints)
Issues regarding drinking water and mobile towers (95.69 complaints)
The hearing also involved various departmental officials, including Assistant District Collector, Fire Officer, and other key stakeholders, to address the concerns of the public. The district administration took immediate steps to resolve some of the grievances on the spot, especially those related to ration cards, labor cards, Aadhaar updates, and land records.
Additionally, online services were made available for the public to address their issues more effectively. The hearing was organized to provide a platform for the local community to voice their concerns and ensure swift action from the relevant authorities.
The District Administration assured that all the concerns raised during the hearing will be dealt with promptly, and necessary follow-ups will be conducted to ensure that the issues are resolved in a timely manner.
