Pravasī Bhāratīya Divasa: Odisha Celebrates Diaspora’s Role in State’s Growth and Progress

The Pravasī Bhāratīya Divasa (Overseas Indian Day) celebration saw a significant moment with the arrival of President Smt. Draupadi Murmu, which elevated the event’s prestige. Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi expressed gratitude for the President’s presence and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his ongoing support.

The Chief Minister acknowledged the contributions of overseas Indians, recognizing their role in both strengthening cultural ties and supporting Odisha’s development, even from abroad. He highlighted that the event symbolized Odisha’s progress and commitment to a prosperous future.

Additionally, the Chief Minister revealed plans for an independent policy for the diaspora, with the Odisha Department of Odia Language, Literature, and Culture as the lead agency. This announcement underscores the state’s efforts to involve the global Odia community in its growth and development, ensuring a collaborative approach to the state’s success.
