Jeypore, Nov 26: Even after the establishment of the district hospital about three kilometers from the central part of Jeypore town in Koraput district, the doctors and staff of the sub-divisional hospital have been deployed to the district hospital by the State Health Department.
Although all facilities are available at the old sub-divisional hospital located in the heart of the city, people are questioning why the state government has not appointed specialist doctors along with a 50-bed hospital. There is a general demand to upgrade the old sub-divisional hospital into a city hospital.
For many years, some specialist doctors who have been stationed at the district hospital have been providing services in Jeypore only, which is resulting in partial medical services. Therefore, the state government and the Health Department are being urged to take notice of this matter.
