Malkangiri:April 02: A blood donation camp titled “Amrita Bindu” was successfully organized by the Balimela Sathya Sai Seva Samiti under Korukonda block.
A large number of residents from Balimela participated in the camp and donated blood. Blood donation is considered a noble act, and such participation helps reduce the shortage of blood and saves the lives of many patients.
Convener of the Samiti, Mr. Murali Krishna Pattnaik, stated that every drop of blood is valuable and has the power to save a life. District Convener Mrs. Sridevi Pattnaik appealed to all residents of Balimela to come forward and donate blood, emphasizing that many lives can be saved through this act.
She also addressed common fears among people regarding blood donation, clarifying that donating blood does not make the body weak. Instead, it helps keep the body healthy, benefits heart health, helps control weight, and may reduce the risk of serious diseases like cancer.
She highlighted that lack of awareness is the main reason why many people hesitate to donate blood and urged especially women to actively participate in such noble initiatives.
Sathya Sai devotees, employees of HPC, and local residents welcomed this social initiative and actively took part in the blood donation camp.
