Bhubaneswar, 20th Aug 2025: Expressing faith in the principles and ideals of Rahul Gandhi, the ideology of Congress, and the leadership of PCC President Bhakta Charan Das, several sarpanches, Zilla Parishad candidates, samiti members, and grassroots leaders from BJD and BJP across Salepur, Keonjhar, Bhubaneswar, and Khordha organizational districts formally joined the Congress today.
At a special induction program held at Congress Bhavan, PCC President Bhakta Charan Das, Odisha in-charge Ajay Kumar Lallu, Congress Legislature Party leader Ramchandra Kadam, AICC co-in-charge Chaudhury Shahnawaz, and PCC Vice-President Santosh Singh Saluja welcomed the new entrants with party caps and scarves.
On the occasion, PCC President Das said that people’s trust and confidence in Congress at the grassroots level is steadily increasing. Rahul Gandhi, by exposing the issue of vote rigging, has brought the BJP’s true character before the public. He added that those who joined today are now part of the Congress family, and the party will stand with them in joy and sorrow. Their participation, he said, would further strengthen the Congress in the days ahead.
Former MP Yashobanta Narayan Singh Laguri, Cuttack Rural District President Pradipta Kumar, Bhubaneswar District President Biswajit Dash, and Khordha District Coordinator Rajeev Pattnayak supervised the induction.
The program, coordinated by PCC Media Cell Chairman Aravind Das and senior spokesperson Rajani Mahanti, was attended by PCC President’s political secretary Sudhanshu Deo, former MLAs Subarna Nayak and Bhujabal Majhi, party candidates Yakub Khan, Ashok Dash, Prashant Champati, PCC spokespersons Himanshu Lenka and Mihir Acharya, among others.
