Bhubaneswar, 18th Oct 2025: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has officially declared that the Southwest Monsoon has withdrawn from the entire country starting today (Thursday). While monsoon had already retreated from other parts of the country earlier, today it completely withdrew from Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, South Interior Karnataka, and Kerala.
Low Pressure Likely on 24th in Bay of Bengal
On the other hand, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal around October 24. This system is expected to move in a west-northwestward direction. There is a possibility that it may intensify further in the following days.
