Spot Admissions Start; Concerns Over Transparency Raised by Students

Cuttack: 16th Aug 2025: The spot admission process for Plus Two courses has begun in Odisha, but uncertainty looms for many students as the results of the Class 10 supplementary examination are yet to be declared by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE).

The supplementary exams ended nearly a month ago, but the Board has not provided any clear date for the announcement of results. This has sparked anxiety among students and parents, as those who took the supplementary exams need their results to apply for admission.

Out of 43,411 applicants for spot admissions, 25,434 have been selected through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS). However, many fear they may miss out on seats in their preferred schools due to the pending results.

The supplementary exams, held from July 1 to 10, were taken by 3,232 students across 98 centres, along with 10,809 candidates for the State Open School Certificate. The delay is reportedly linked to the Board’s involvement in addressing the recent OTET (Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test) question paper leak case, which has shifted focus away from result processing.

With August progressing, uncertainty remains over whether the supplementary results will be released in time for all eligible students to participate in the current admission cycle.
