Students Suffer as Approach Road to Badigaput School Turns Unusable

Nandapur, 6th Sept 2025: The approach road to Badigaput Primary School, under Kulabira Panchayat in Nandapur Block of Koraput district, has become muddy and nearly unusable due to rainwater, causing severe difficulties for students and villagers.

A dangerous 18-inch-high protection wall, built by the block and panchayat administration, runs along the side of the road. Locals, including students, guardians, school staff, and residents, report that they are forced to walk on top of this wall to get by, putting them at serious risk. There have been incidents where students slipped and fell, sustaining injuries.

In response to these concerns, the block administration has reportedly taken note of the situation. Assistant Executive Engineer Pr. Jhasketan Behera has stated that approval has already been received under MGNREGS for constructing the road. He added that a detailed estimate has been prepared by the block engineers and sent for higher-level financial approval from the district administration. Once the funds are sanctioned, road construction will begin.

The villagers and school community have urged the administration to expedite the process, ensuring safety and ease of access to education for local children.
