Kolnara, 19th Aug 2025: Keeping their promise, the railway authorities have started halts for three long-awaited express trains at the Therubali railway station in Kolnara block from August 15.
On August 8, the railway authorities had issued a notification confirming that from August 15, three trains would stop at Therubali. The news brought a wave of joy among the people of the area. Accordingly, at 8:45 AM on August 15, the Bilaspur–Tirupati Express made its halt at Therubali railway station.
On this occasion, to welcome the train pilot, the president of Therubali Citizens’ Forum, Ashok Hikaka, general secretary Bhaskar Kumar Amarsingh, coordinator Niranjan Patra, former vice-chairman of Kolnara block Tejaraj Nag, Mani Ataka, M. Rajesh, Ganapati Panda, Parameswar Nilgiri, Anup Biswas, Krushnachandra Saha, K. Apana, M. Prakash Rao and several others were present. After the halt, the pilot was felicitated with a bouquet and sweets were distributed.
As this long-standing demand was fulfilled, the Forum expressed gratitude to the public representatives and the railway authorities.
According to the notification, from August 15, the Dhanbad–Alleppey Express, Hazrat Nizamuddin Express, and Bilaspur–Tirupati Express have started halting at Therubali. Earlier, out of the six halts demanded by the Citizens’ Forum, three trains—Jagdalpur–Howrah Samaleswari Express, Junagarh–Bhubaneswar Express, and Visakhapatnam–Korba Express—had already been stopping here since August 2023
