Gunupur , March, 17:: Subash Chandra Gamang, a retired Forest Guard and son of late Purna Chandra Gamang, a communist leader from Khamapadar village under Padmapur block, has passed away.
He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Brahmapur over the past two days.
Late Subash Gamang was born on January 20, 1954, in Khamapadar village. Having faced many struggles in life, he served in the Forest Department as a Forest Guard. During his service, he was entrusted with forest protection responsibilities in various blocks of the Gunupur region.
He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Uma Maheshwari and Kalpana. His son, Jagadish Gamang, who is working in Dubai, is expected to reach Rayagada on Wednesday, after which the last rites will be performed, informed his younger brother Tirupati Gamang, District Secretary of CPI (ML) Liberation.
His mortal remains will be brought from Brahmapur to his residence at Indiranagar, Third Line, in Rayagada tonight.
