Nandapur, April 14: A district-level joint public grievance hearing camp was held on Monday at the Nandapur Block office premises in Koraput district. The camp was conducted in the presence of District Collector Manoj Satyaban Mahajan and SP Rohit Verma.
Several district-level officials, including ADM Tapan Nayak, Sub-Collector Premlal Hial, Zilla Parishad APD (Admin), Deputy Collector Souranjit, ADPHO Dr. Sai Swaroop, District Welfare Officer Sunil Tandi, District Education Officer Karunakara Bhue, Executive Engineer of Rural Water Supply Department, and Deputy Director of Horticulture Sudam Biswal, were present.
During the hearing, residents of Nandapur block submitted complaints on various issues such as:
Non-payment of wages under MGNREGS
Demand for action against the headmistress of Padua High School
Construction of bridges and roads
Poor condition of old government quarters in Nandapur
Repair of non-functional X-ray machine at the Community Health Centre
Establishment of a high school in Nandaka Panchayat
Shortage of teachers in schools run by Welfare and Education Departments
Development of Anganwadi and school infrastructure
Issues related to pension, housing, roads, and drinking water
Additionally, people from 10 पंचायत areas displaced due to land acquisition for the Jolaput reservoir demanded recognition and development support. A total of 28 written complaints were submitted on these matters.
S. Jagadish from Sundipunga village under Semiliguda block alleged that he has not yet received compensation for land acquired under the Bharatmala project. Similarly, Shrabani Khemundu from Machhaput village under Dasmantpur block complained about not receiving any government assistance after her husband’s death while working in the Horticulture Department.
The District Collector directed concerned departmental officials to take immediate steps to resolve all 30 complaints.
Among others present were Nandapur Block Chairperson Sabitri Kartul, Tahasildar Debabrata Maharana, Additional Tahasildar Madhab Pangi, SDPO Devendra Mallik, and others. The program was coordinated by Nandapur BDO Durga Prasad Dora.
After the camp, the District Collector and officials inspected the construction work of Padua Primary Health Centre and sub-centre. They also visited the Nandapur Chhatua production center, Cheliamunda nursery, and the pig and poultry farm at Semela.
