Nabarangpur,Sept 2 [UDN}:: Sports Day was celebrated at the Ashakiran institution in the Nabarangpur district headquarters under the chairmanship of Ashakiran President Jagannath Behera.
District Sports Association Joint Secretary Manoj Kumar Pattnaik attended the programme as the chief guest, while In-charge Sports Officer Shubhan Sritam Panda was present as the distinguished guest.
On the occasion, the guests interacted with the differently-abled students and discussed the courage, perseverance and contribution of legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand to the nation. Sweets were distributed among the differently-abled students at the conclusion of the programme.
Members of the District Physical Education Teachers’ Association, including Ajit Parija, Purabi Parida, B. Roja, Muna Samarth, Pranab Biswal, Manoj Malik and Satyajit Sethi, attended the event. Senior sports teacher Bibhasis De conducted the proceedings.
Niranjan Nayak, Yubabani Priya, Ratnakar Bisoyi, Himanshu Pattnaik and Trinath Nayak from the District Collectorate, along with staff members of Ashakiran, extended their cooperation in making the programme successful.
