Bhubaneswar, Sept. 10 (UDN): International air connectivity between Bhubaneswar and Bangkok is set to return from October 2, with direct flights resuming after a temporary suspension, providing a boost to tourism, business travel and overseas connectivity from Odisha.

Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) Director Prasanna Pradhan confirmed that the service will operate twice a week, restoring a key international route from Odisha’s capital to the Thai capital.
The direct service had remained suspended since July. Airport officials said its revival coincides with the start of the winter flight schedule, when international travel demand typically increases with the onset of the tourist season.
Pradhan indicated that the earlier suspension was likely linked to lower passenger demand during the off-season, while the improved travel outlook has paved the way for the route’s return.
The restored service is expected to benefit leisure travellers heading to Thailand, as well as business travellers and passengers using Bangkok as a gateway to other Southeast Asian destinations.
Airport authorities believe the resumption will further strengthen Bhubaneswar’s international aviation network and improve connectivity for travellers from Odisha and neighbouring states.
The return of the Bangkok service marks another step in expanding international air links from Biju Patnaik International Airport as demand for overseas travel continues to grow.
