The immersion processions are scheduled to begin at 2 pm, with six temporary immersion sites designated across the capital and surrounding areas. Authorities have also announced a ban on DJ music during the processions, warning that violations will invite strict action, including seizure of equipment and registration of criminal cases.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Shravan M. Vivek said the restrictions would be enforced to maintain public order and ensure the smooth conduct of the celebrations.

Three Major Procession Routes Identified

Elaborate arrangements have been made for the major immersion processions at Nayapalli, Sahid Nagar and North Bhubaneswar. Around 20 Durga Puja committees are expected to participate in the Nayapalli procession, while 24 tableaux will take part in the Sahid Nagar procession.

Nayapalli Route

The Nayapalli procession will commence from Nayapalli Square and proceed through CRP Square. The tableaux will take a right turn at DAV Square before moving through Gopabandhu Square and Siripur towards Airport and Sur Company Square.

Traffic heading towards Jaydev Vihar from the CRP Square side will be diverted through the Ekamra Park road during the procession.

Sahid Nagar Route

The Sahid Nagar immersion procession will begin in the locality and move through Ram Mandir and Master Canteen before reaching Rajmahal Square.

Vehicles will be permitted to use Sachivalaya Marg and adjoining roads to facilitate traffic movement during the procession.

North Bhubaneswar Route

Tableaux from two immersion committees in North Bhubaneswar will assemble at Club Town Apartment Ground and Damana Ground before proceeding towards Nalco Square.

Vehicles travelling from Nandankanan Square towards Jaydev Vihar will be diverted through connecting roads at KIIT or Kalarahanga Square, depending on the traffic arrangements in force.

Traffic restrictions across the designated areas will remain in force from 2 pm until 1 am.

Six Temporary Immersion Sites Arranged

The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has established temporary immersion ponds at designated locations to facilitate the safe and orderly immersion of Durga idols.

The sites include Palasuni, Hanspal, Basuaghai and Tankapani Road near the Kuakhai River, as well as Lingipur near the Daya River. Additional temporary ponds have also been arranged near Centurion University, Chandaka and the Kushabhadra River.

To ensure smooth operations, the civic authorities have deployed hydra cranes, JCB machines, tractors and support teams near the immersion ponds. Dedicated access roads and lighting facilities have also been arranged to assist procession participants and facilitate the movement of idols.

Public Urged to Follow Traffic Advisories

With large crowds expected to gather along the procession routes and at immersion sites, police and civic authorities have appealed to residents, puja committees and commuters to cooperate with the arrangements.

Residents have been advised to plan their journeys in advance, use designated alternative routes and comply with police instructions throughout the immersion period.

The coordinated security, traffic and civic arrangements aim to ensure that the final rituals of Durga Puja conclude peacefully, allowing devotees to bid farewell to Goddess Durga while minimising inconvenience to the public.
