Keonjhar , Aug 27 [UDN}:An executive meeting of the Keonjhar district branch of the Odisha Blood Donors’ Federation (FBDO) was held at the Om Academy auditorium in Keonjhar . The meeting was presided over by former professor Dr. Kulamani Pradhan and coordinated by lecturer Himanshu Sekhar Mohant, Keonjhar District Red Cross Coordinator and founder of the Keonjhar Blood Donors’ Family.
The meeting focused on the need to create at least one blood donor in every household in the coming days and strengthen the culture of voluntary blood donation across the district.
On the occasion, the Raktabir Samman–2026 was conferred on Prashant Kumar Parida and Manoj Kumar Mohant by Monalisa Rout in recognition of their contribution to blood donation and humanitarian service.
A new District Executive Council was also constituted during the meeting. Dr. Kulamani Pradhan, Suresh Chandra Acharya, Bijayini Acharya and Duryodhan Mohant were appointed as members of the Advisory Board. Himanshu Sekhar Mohant was appointed President, while Narendra Kumar Satapathy and Maheswar Patra were appointed Vice-Presidents. Santosh Kumar Senapati was appointed General Secretary, Prashant Kumar Parida Joint Secretary, Padmini Rout Treasurer and Rajesh Kumar Panda Managing Secretary.
Other coordinators were also appointed for different blocks and activities. Chita Chatar was appointed Champua Coordinator, Truptimayee Barik Turumunga Coordinator, Santosh Kumar Sahu Patana Coordinator, Himadri Mohant Harichandanpur Coordinator and Sanjay Kumar Jena Anandapur Coordinator. Satyabrata Mohant was appointed Club Coordinator, Rohit Kumar Mohant Inter-College Coordinator and Pratima Mohant District Self-Help Group Coordinator.
Satyabrata Giri and Rajendra Nayak were nominated by the State Executive Council as coordinators for social activities and general media management.
Several other members, including Sandeep Kumar Mohant, Nibasa Jena, Sourav Kumar Behera, Gobinda Chandra Sahu, Priyadarshini Patra, Sanjita Chatar, Priyadarshini Mohant, Namita Nanda and Manoj Kumar Mohant, were present at the meeting. Meenaketan Sahu proposed the vote of thanks.
The meeting reiterated the organisation’s commitment to promoting voluntary blood donation, expanding the network of donors and ensuring timely availability of blood for patients in need across Keonjhar district.
