K. Nuagaon, March, 10: Residents have demanded the installation of a tube well at the Baba Balunkeswar Temple, located at Shasipada under Sarangagad Panchayat in K. Nuagaon Block of Kandhamal district.
Every year, the Sital Sasthi festival is celebrated here with great enthusiasm. On this occasion, thousands of devotees from different parts of the region and district gather to seek the blessings of Baba Balunkeswar. However, due to the lack of drinking water facilities within the temple premises, devotees face significant difficulties.
According to local villagers, during the festival period, the intense heat and large crowds increase the demand for drinking water. In the absence of a tube well, water has to be brought from distant sources, which creates inconvenience for devotees and villagers engaged in service and rituals.
In this context, villagers including Santosh Jena, Labha Satpathy, Trinath Sahu, Raghu Pushti, Ashok Jena, Khalich R. Nayak, Biren Patra, and several other concerned citizens have urged the administration to take immediate steps to dig a new tube well within the temple premises.
They have expressed hope that the administration will treat the matter seriously and take prompt action so that devotees can avail proper facilities and the festival can be conducted smoothly.
