Cuttack, June 23 (UDN): A tragic road accident on the Trishulia Bridge in Cuttack claimed the life of a car driver on Tuesday after a hyva truck allegedly rammed into the vehicle.
According to police, the impact of the collision was so severe that the car driver died on the spot. Fire Services personnel rushed to the scene and extricated the body from the mangled wreckage of the car.
Soon after the accident, the driver of the hyva truck fled the spot, police said.
Personnel from Barang Police Station reached the accident site, seized both the vehicles involved in the mishap, and launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to the crash. Efforts are underway to trace the absconding truck driver.
The accident briefly disrupted vehicular movement on the busy Trishulia Bridge, a key link connecting Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
