Chief Minister’s Urban Development Scheme Gives Fresh Impetus to Municipal Infrastructure in Odisha, Prioritising Quality Roads, Modern Drainage, Safe Drinking Water and Beautification of Public Spaces

Bhubaneswar, Sept 15 [UDN}:Under the Chief Minister’s Urban Development Scheme, infrastructure development works are being accelerated across various municipal areas of Odisha. Through this scheme, priority is being given to improving urban roads, developing modern drainage systems, ensuring access to clean drinking water, and upgrading and beautifying public spaces.

The initiative aims to strengthen basic urban infrastructure and improve the overall quality of life for residents. Better roads and drainage facilities are expected to enhance connectivity and reduce waterlogging, while improved drinking-water services will help ensure a cleaner and healthier urban environment. At the same time, the development and beautification of public spaces are being undertaken to make cities more attractive, accessible and citizen-friendly.

The accelerated implementation of these projects reflects the state government’s focus on building modern, well-planned and sustainable urban areas across Odisha.
