The announcement was made during the 35th and 36th State Film Awards ceremony held at the Lok Seva Bhavan Convention Centre, where the Chief Minister felicitated leading artists, technicians, and veterans of the Odia film industry. Highlighting the importance of the film industry in promoting Odisha’s culture, the Chief Minister said that the creativity and dedication of Odia artists have helped elevate the state’s identity at both national and international levels. He reiterated the government’s commitment to the welfare, rights, and professional growth of those associated with the industry.

The upcoming film policy is expected to focus on strengthening the overall ecosystem of Odia cinema, improving infrastructure, and creating new opportunities for artists, technicians, and young talent.

The Chief Minister also outlined plans to transform Kalinga Studio into a modern digital and post-production hub, equipped with international-standard facilities. The initiative aims to provide advanced training and employment opportunities within the state, reducing the need for talent migration to other regions.
