Rayagada , Sept 4 [UDN}:The counting of donations deposited in the hundis of the famous Maa Majhighariani Temple in Rayagada has been completed, with more than ₹54 lakh in cash collected.
On Monday, nine hundis of the temple were opened and the donated money was counted under tight security at the Rayagada Main Branch of Union Bank. After the counting process was completed, a total of ₹54,15,902 in cash was found in the hundis.
Apart from the cash, the temple authorities also recovered 64 grams of gold and approximately 1 kilogram 764 grams of silver ornaments from the donation boxes.
The counting was carried out under strict security arrangements to ensure transparency and proper handling of the offerings made by devotees. The substantial collection reflects the continued faith and devotion of devotees toward Maa Majhighariani, the presiding deity of Rayagada.
