Devotees Prepare for the Sacred Amarnath Yatra Beginning July 3; Authorities Ensure Comprehensive Safety Measures and Pilgrim Facilities

 Amarnath, June 30 {UDN}:  There is good news for devotees of Lord Shiva. The annual Amarnath Yatra is set to commence on July 3 this year. The sacred pilgrimage will continue for 57 days and conclude on August 28.

The first ceremonial worship (Pratham Puja) of the naturally formed ice Shivling inside the holy cave will be performed on June 29, marking the traditional beginning of the pilgrimage season.
Every year, lakhs of devotees from across India undertake the challenging journey to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva. The Amarnath Cave, situated at an altitude of approximately 3,888 metres (12,756 feet) above sea level in Jammu and Kashmir, is one of Hinduism’s most revered pilgrimage sites.

The cave is renowned for its naturally formed ice Shivling, which is created every year through the freezing of water droplets inside the cave and is considered a sacred manifestation of Lord Shiva.
