ECoR Introduces Temporary Halt for Angul–Puri MEMU at Janakideipur for Festive Season

Bhubaneswar, Aug. 31 (UDN): The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced a temporary additional stoppage for the Angul–Puri–Angul MEMU at Janakideipur station in Jagatsinghpur district to facilitate passenger travel during the upcoming Ganesh Puja and Vishwakarma Puja celebrations.

The special halt will remain in effect from August 28 to October 20, 2026, covering the festive period when passenger traffic is expected to increase significantly.

According to ECoR, the temporary stoppage will be provided for Train No. 68421 (Angul–Puri MEMU) and Train No. 68422 (Puri–Angul MEMU), offering improved connectivity for residents of Janakideipur and nearby areas.

Railway officials said the measure has been introduced to ease travel during the festive season and ensure greater convenience for commuters visiting their hometowns or attending celebrations.

Passengers planning to travel on the Angul–Puri route have been advised to check the revised schedule and take note of the temporary halt while booking tickets and planning their journeys.
