Bhubaneswar, June 25 {UDN}: A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Odisha Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) R. S. Gopalan with representatives of recognized political parties.
During the meeting, the Chief Electoral Officer reviewed and discussed the progress of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the state. He briefed the representatives on various activities being undertaken as part of the revision process and emphasized the importance of ensuring accurate, inclusive, and updated voter lists.
The representatives of political parties were informed about the procedures, timelines, and measures being adopted to facilitate the revision exercise. The CEO also sought the cooperation of all political parties in creating voter awareness and ensuring active public participation in the electoral roll revision process.
The meeting provided a platform for constructive discussions, with party representatives sharing their suggestions and concerns regarding the ongoing revision work. The Election Department reiterated its commitment to conducting the exercise in a transparent, fair, and efficient manner to strengthen the democratic process in the state.
