Bhubaneswar,June 4: Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida has launched the digital book titled “Importance of the First 1000 Days of Life.”
The digital book was unveiled in the conference hall of the Department of Women and Child Development.
The daily food cost for severely underweight children has been increased from ₹8 to ₹18.
The supplementary nutrition cost has been raised from ₹8 to ₹12, along with an additional ₹6 under the nutrition scheme.
Around 35,000 severely underweight children in the state will directly benefit from this facility.
The state government will bear an additional annual expenditure of approximately ₹10.7 crore for this.
The morning breakfast cost for Anganwadi pre-school children has been increased to ₹3.56 per child per day.
For children aged 3 to 6 years, the morning breakfast cost has been increased by ₹1.24 per day.
The government will bear an additional annual expenditure of around ₹137.57 crore for morning breakfast.
A total additional expenditure of ₹137.57 crore has been approved by the government.
The Minister stated that “the first 1000 days of a child’s life are the most crucial period for overall development.”
This simple book, prepared in Odia, will be used by Anganwadi workers during home visits.
