Bhubaneswar, Sept 4 [UDN}: Flood-affected farmers whose crops and agricultural activities have suffered losses will be provided with the necessary agricultural input subsidies. Financial assistance for the purchase of seeds will be extended through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), while subsidies on pesticides will also be provided to help farmers control pests and diseases in crops grown after the floods. In addition, free vegetable mini-kits will be distributed to support farmers in restarting cultivation and restoring household food production.
The government remains fully committed to extending all necessary assistance to farmers affected by the floods and helping them recover from the losses they have suffered. Through timely financial support, agricultural inputs, quality seeds, pest and disease management assistance, and vegetable mini-kits, the government aims to help farmers resume cultivation at the earliest and gradually restore normalcy in the agricultural sector.
The initiative is intended to provide immediate relief as well as support the longer-term recovery of flood-hit farmers, ensuring that agricultural activities can restart smoothly and farmers can rebuild their livelihoods following the flood situation.
