Bhubaneswar: Sept 18 [UDN}:A large number of junior teachers from across Odisha staged a mass demonstration at Lower PMG in Bhubaneswar, raising their voices over their long-pending demand for regularisation of their services.
Around 13,000 junior teachers, including both male and female educators, reportedly took part in the protest, demanding that the government fulfil its commitment regarding the regularisation of their jobs. The teachers gathered at the designated protest site in the state capital and expressed dissatisfaction over the delay in implementing the regularisation process.
The protesting teachers alleged that despite a government notification regarding the matter, their services have still not been regularised. They said that they have been waiting for the implementation of the decision and demanded that the authorities take immediate steps to resolve the issue.
The demonstration at Lower PMG witnessed a significant gathering of teachers, who raised slogans and highlighted their demands. The protesters maintained that regularisation of their services would provide them with greater job security and clarity regarding their future.
The junior teachers have urged the state government to take concrete action on their demand and implement the relevant notification without further delay. The protest has once again brought the issue of service regularisation of junior teachers into focus in the state.
