Baipariguda,July 31 UDN}: A message of hope and opportunity has come for young and aspiring cricketers in Baipariguda and the surrounding areas. Once the repair and renovation work of the Mini Stadium is completed, a selection trial for the Kalahandi Cup is expected to be organised in Baipariguda. The proposed selection trial will provide talented young cricketers from the region with an important opportunity to showcase their skills and compete for a place in a state-level cricket competition.
In this connection, an emergency meeting was organised by the Gupteswar Cricket Club at the premises of the Baipariguda Baita Library. The meeting was attended by Anup Patra, Vice-President of the Athletic Sub-Division, and Rabi Nayak, Joint Secretary of All Odisha Athletics, as the chief guests.
Speaking on the occasion, the guests stated that the Kalahandi Cup selection trials would be conducted in Baipariguda after the repair work of the Mini Stadium is fully completed. They made it clear that talented players from Baipariguda and the surrounding region would be given equal opportunities to participate in the selection process and demonstrate their cricketing abilities.
The guests also emphasised the importance of collective efforts to promote the development of young cricketing talent, provide disciplined and regular training, and strengthen the overall sports culture in the area. They said that with proper guidance, training and support, talented players from rural areas could get opportunities to advance their careers and compete at higher levels.
During the meeting, several important decisions were taken unanimously to further strengthen the organisational activities of the academy and cricket club. It was decided that regular meetings would be organised and systematic efforts would be made to identify and promote talented players from rural and remote areas. Greater emphasis would also be placed on improving training facilities, encouraging young cricketers and developing the local sports infrastructure.
The meeting was attended by academy president Sridhar Rao, vice-presidents P. Ramesh Patra and Gyanendra Dhal, secretary Banikinkar Pattnaik, joint secretary Kumar, social media representative Kali Charan Pattnaik, coordinator Sudhakar Rao, other office-bearers, members, young players and a large number of cricket enthusiasts.
Those present at the meeting shared their views and suggestions on promoting cricket in the region, providing better training facilities to aspiring players and improving sports infrastructure. The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to creating a stronger platform for young cricketers and helping promising rural talent get the recognition and opportunities they deserve.
