New Delhi, July 28: India’s textile and apparel sector has achieved a major milestone, with exports crossing ₹3.25 lakh crore during the 2025–26 financial year, reflecting strong global demand and the growing competitiveness of Indian products, the government said.
The strong export performance highlights the resilience of the textile industry, supported by improved manufacturing, expanding global market access, and continued policy support.
Officials said the sector continues to play a vital role in boosting exports, generating employment, and strengthening India’s manufacturing ecosystem.
The government attributed the growth to ongoing efforts to improve production capacity, enhance product quality, and promote Indian textile products in international markets.
Industry experts said the encouraging export numbers are expected to attract fresh investment, create employment opportunities, and further strengthen India’s position as a leading global supplier of textiles and apparel.
The latest export performance reflects the sector’s growing contribution to the country’s economic growth and reinforces its importance in India’s export-driven development strategy.
