Jayapur June 9: Young woman IPS officer S. Sushree has assumed charge as the Superintendent of Police (SP) of the Vigilance Department office at Jayapure under the Koraput Division from .
As per the instructions of the state government, she was transferred to the Vigilance Department and appointed as the SP of the Jeypore office. Prior to this, she was serving as the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Nayagarh district.
This is considered a significant development as, for the first time in the history of the Jayapur Vigilance Division, a woman IPS officer has taken charge as SP.
At a time when the Vigilance Department is being strengthened further to control corruption and ensure transparent administration in the undivided Koraput district, young and efficient IPS officers are being entrusted with important responsibilities. The appointment of S. Sushree is being viewed as part of this initiative.
It is noteworthy that the former SP of the Jayapur Vigilance Division, Rabindra Kumar Panda, has been transferred to the Vigilance Headquarters at Cuttack.
