Khairput March, 2: The much-awaited Sampurnata Abhiyan 2.0 of the Central Government has been launched at the Khairput Block Office premises in Khairput Block. The program was chaired by Block Development Officer Arpita Mohanty.
District Project Administrator Dasarathi Sarabu attended as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries present included Khairput Block Chairman Bighnaraj Kirsani, Zilla Parishad Member Bali Majhi, MP Representative Sanu Rath, MLA Representative Niranjan Raju, NITI Aayog member Rajaram Mallik, the Child Development Officer, and all the Sarpanches of the block.
The program began with floral tribute and lamp lighting before the portrait of Lord Jagannath. On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of “Vande Mataram,” the national song was sung in full with due respect.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Mr. Sarabu stated that Sampurnata Abhiyan 2.0 is a highly useful and much-anticipated scheme of the Government of India. Under this initiative, the Central Government has prioritized the accelerated and 100 percent implementation of development works and schemes in 500 aspirational blocks across the country. The primary objective is to ensure complete execution of schemes across departments such as education, health, transportation, safe drinking water, animal husbandry, Panchayati Raj, agriculture, and other sectors.
Under Sampurnata Abhiyan 2.0, a six-point action program has been adopted for aspirational blocks this year. These include:
Percentage of supplementary nutrition provided to children aged six months to six years through ICDS.
Availability of functional toilets in Anganwadi centers.
Availability of safe drinking water in Anganwadi centers.
Percentage of separate toilets for girls in schools.
Eradication and vaccination coverage against Foot-and-Mouth Disease in livestock.
Responsibility for implementing and monitoring these targets has been assigned to three key departments—Women and Child Development, Education, and Animal Husbandry.
At the end of the program, the dignitaries visited various exhibition stalls set up to showcase the objectives and achievements under the campaign. Individuals demonstrating outstanding performance were awarded. The event was compered by OLM staff members Chinmaya Kumar Singh and Lingaraj Panigrahi.
In her concluding remarks, BDO Arpita Mohanty thanked all the guests and sought everyone’s cooperation to successfully implement and realize the goals of Sampurnata Abhiyan 2.0.
