Malkangiri March, 13: A three-day special program organized by the District Sports Department to mark International Women’s Day began successfully today at the local Sports Complex.
On the first day, a mass yoga session was conducted, which was formally inaugurated by the Hon’ble Malkangiri MLA, Narsingh Madkami, as the chief guest. The Additional District Magistrate, other distinguished guests, and a large number of women participated in the event.
The guests highlighted the importance of women’s empowerment and the need for yoga for physical well-being in their speeches.
It is noteworthy that the festival will continue until March 8. Following today’s yoga camp, a judo and karate (self-defense skills) training session for women will be held tomorrow (March 7) at 6:30 AM. On the final day, March 8, a grand marathon will be organized at 6:30 AM from the Sports Complex to the District Headquarters Hospital Square.
The Sports Department has urged all women of the district to actively participate in the upcoming programs.
