Malkangiri,March, 18: Under the Central Government’s flagship scheme ULLAS – Nav Bharat Literacy Programme, the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Assessment Test (FLNAT) was successfully conducted today in Malkangiri district.
The examination was organized at around 865 centers across the district. The programme aims to make non-literate individuals aged 15 years and above literate as part of the government’s major literacy mission.
According to District Education Officer Chittaranjan Panigrahi, all schools in Malkangiri district having a UDISE code were designated as FLNAT examination centers.
In addition, a special FLNAT center was set up at the Malkangiri District Jail, where around 200 inmates appeared for the examination.
While the literacy target for Malkangiri district has been set at 35,000 learners, approximately 9,603 candidates (till 12 noon) had appeared for the literacy test today, informed Additional
District Education Officer Manjulata Bhoi during her inspection visit.
Officials and staff of the School and Mass Education Department supervised and managed the examination process across all centers in the district.
The large participation reflects significant progress toward improving literacy in the district.
