Nabarangpur:July 7 {UDN}: An Intellectuals’ Conference was organized on Monday at the Rokishan Premium Hall in Nabarangpur as part of the “Development Across Odisha” campaign. The event brought together intellectuals, academicians, social workers, and distinguished citizens to discuss the state’s development priorities and offer constructive suggestions.
The meeting was attended by Odisha’s Minister for Steel & Mines and Commerce & Transport, Bibhuti Bhusan Jena, as the chief guest. Member of Parliament Balabhadra Majhi and MLA as well as District Planning Board Chairman Gouri Shankar Majhi were present as guests of honour.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Jena highlighted the Odisha Government’s developmental initiatives, including industrial growth, strengthening transport and communication infrastructure, and various public welfare schemes. He also invited valuable suggestions from the participating intellectuals to further accelerate the state’s development.
During the interactive session, participants discussed several issues concerning Nabarangpur district. They emphasized the timely supply of fertilizers to farmers, the establishment of cold storage facilities, implementation of new development projects, and expansion of irrigation infrastructure to boost agricultural productivity and improve livelihoods.
The programme was also attended by senior BJP leaders, including State Vice-President Ramesh Sahu, District BJP President Kunj Bihari Das, and Dhanurjaya Pattnaik, along with several other party leaders and public representatives. The conference concluded with a collective commitment to support inclusive and sustainable development across the district and the state.
