Bhubaneswar, July 1 (UDN): State-run National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has announced plans to invest between ₹28,000 crore and ₹30,000 crore over the next three to four years to significantly expand its aluminium production capacity in Odisha.
The proposed investment will support the establishment of a new aluminium smelter along with a captive power plant, strengthening NALCO’s manufacturing capabilities and meeting the growing demand for aluminium in domestic and global markets.
The expansion is expected to boost industrial development in Odisha, create employment opportunities, and enhance the state’s position as a major hub for aluminium production. The project also aligns with NALCO’s long-term strategy of increasing operational efficiency and expanding its production footprint.
Once implemented, the new facilities are expected to contribute to higher aluminium output while supporting the company’s growth plans and reinforcing Odisha’s role in India’s metals and mining sector.
