Nabarangpur June 18: : In several villages under Nandahan di block of Nabarangpur district, many poor and distressed families have suffered damage to their homes due to the impact of Kalbaisakhi (nor’wester) today. Roofs and walls of houses were damaged, and several trees were uprooted in the affected areas.
After receiving information about the incident, Nandahandi Tehsildar Chandradas Mohanandia immediately took action and initiated relief measures. In Morali and Khuntia villages, polythene sheets were promptly provided to partially damaged houses.
Similarly, Fire Department personnel cleared trees that had fallen on roads and houses, restoring normal traffic movement.
Among those who received assistance were Anand Kumar Mohanandia, Nandai Soura, Padma Soura, Padalam Nayak, Baidi Nayak, Madhab Nayak, Krupasindhu Paik, Kamala Soura, Kailash Nayak, Baidi Bhatra, Padma Amanatya, Madhab Pujari, Giridhar, and Chaitan Jani, among others.
Local people have appreciated the prompt response of the tehsil administration during this natural disaster. The residents expressed gratitude to Tehsildar Chandradas Mohanandia for standing with the affected families and extending timely assistance.
